Course StructureAll our courses are designed to suit you, are all tailor-made to your requirements and can work around your work schedules. We have a variety of different standard driving packages on offer. However, if you are looking for something specific, then please contact us for further advice.
The courses can be conducted in either the delegate´s own car or the trainer´s car and can be arranged to commence from either their place of work or somewhere convenient for them.
All our courses follow a similar format of:
- Meet and greet
- Check of driving documents and course introduction
- Eyesight test and vehicle safety checks
- Driving assessment taking in as many varied road conditions as possible
- A discussion of the driving assessment followed by a development coaching session, working on the main areas of risk. A short demonstration drive may be offered at the discretion of the trainer subject to suitable insurance cover being provided
- Final assessment
- Feedback and advice given to the driver and a full report to be given to you the employer, which will advise on skills or areas for the driver to further develop
Below is an overview of our standard courses and the duration of them:
Fleet driver training - Duration flexible
Fleet driver training is a defensive driving course aimed at the company vehicle driver, which focuses on improving your driver´s road awareness and planning skills. This course is designed to help your number one asset, your employee, to be a safer driver on the roads, which in turn will also help to reduce your insurance premiums and ultimately keep your business moving.
Eco-Driving courses - Duration flexible
With fuel prices going up weekly, in order to save money and the planet, we need to look more closely at our driving and what we do. On our eco-driving course we can show you that by changing your driving techniques you could help save fuel by at least 10%. This will make a positive difference to the environment and of course make good economic sense.
Advanced driving course - Duration 3 days:
On this course your driver will be assessed and their driving developed to a higher standard using the same advanced driving techniques as used for the RoSPA and IAM advanced driving tests. The main emphasis is on raising your driver´s road awareness and planning skills along with other issues such as space management and safe use of speed. The courses are designed to be flexible in order to deal with each individual driver´s requirements.
UK familiarisation courses - Duration half day or full day
If your company employs a member of staff who is new to the UK, the rules and road procedures may be different than in their home country, therefore on a UK familiarisation course they will be shown how to drive safely on the UK roads where quite a bit of emphasis will be placed on roundabouts, junctions, traffic light sequences and motorway driving as these are areas that can differ from country to country.
Speed awareness courses - Duration half day or full day
With more authorities placing more speed cameras it is very easy to get points on your driving licence due to drifting over the limit. Your drivers will drive on a variety of roads with different limits and learn how to recognise speed limits, and with increased observations and linking hazards, they will learn where speed limits are prone to changing and how to keep their speed in order.
Motorway courses - Duration half day
If one of your employees is an inexperienced driver or has limited experience in motorway driving or is lacking in confidence when it comes to motorway driving then the motorway driving course could be the one for them.
Refresher courses - Duration flexible
Our refresher course is ideal for those drivers who lack confidence. Maybe you have an employee who hasn´t driven for a number of years and now needs to drive more regularly for work purposes. It could also be, that one of your employees is new to the area and needs a bit of help understanding the road systems in your area. This course is flexible around the delegate´s current circumstances and can focus on any particular aspect of driving they need assistance with. We will also help to build up their confidence and update their knowledge on new driving legislations and modern driving techniques, so that they are better equipped in dealing with today´s more demanding traffic conditions.
